Bar and bistro Dobbs Ferry closed permanently earlier this month, while casual eatery The Grove shuttered its Hayes Valley location in May.īoutiques Nancy Boy and Ver Unica have also closed, citing the inability to keep up with rent in the face of the pandemic. The pandemic has been particularly tough on the Hayes Street corridor, which boasts some of San Francisco's highest commercial rents. They are currently open for takeout and delivery. Two other Stacks locations, in Redwood City and Campbell, are franchised and run under separate ownership. While the original Burlingame location of Stacks appears to be currently open for takeout and outdoor dining, the phone at the Menlo Park location has also been disconnected. Specializing in "comfortable food" like pancakes, omelettes and burgers, it subsequently expanded to Menlo Park before opening in Hayes Valley. Toasted bagel served open face with marinara and melted jack cheese. Its Facebook and Instagram pages haven't had an update since February - though there's a Facebook comment from a customer expressing sadness about the Hayes Valley closure. There's also no evidence of Stacks having reopened for takeout service during the shelter-in-place. Google also marks the restaurant as permanently closed. Its phone line is no longer in service, and emails to the owners were not returned. Got the grass fed burger - it was HUGE The fries were amazing - skinny and crunchy to the last one, and there were a ton - if you want a big meal, this would do it Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: 1020 Food: 5 Service: 5. alerted us to the possible closure of the restaurant, which occupies a highly visible space adjacent to Patricia's Green. The service was ok, gave us curtesy credit for the bad coffee on the bill. After 13 years, Hayes Valley breakfast spot Stacks appears to have closed its doors permanently. tri Berry waffle my daughter I had was delicious. however, it served with real crab meat which it was a plus. Egg Benedict with crab meat & Spanish that I had was served in very low temperature, not sure it was waited too long to served or not, was very disappointed on its temperature besides the egg was nearly well done but running. Hot chocolat my daughter had ,was either from one of those Swiss Made hot chocolate or ready to mix type hot chocolate, not impressed. The coffee was so light, not a good coffee. Afterwards, Hosts moved us to a 4 people seating table instead. I dislike for being close to the kitchen with smoke and request to be moved. First seating offered us was the two seats table next to the open kitchen & service preparation section. First visit for Saturday Brunch, place is crowded & we had to wait for 20 mins to be seated.
